Meet Mr. Ruler 9/13

On September 13th students were introduced to the functions of the ruler. It is expected that all students use the ruler in an appropriate manner (ruler privileges can be taken away if abused). In this years Studio class we will be using rulers to measure, create straight and even borders, make grids as well as create technical 3D perspective drawings.
The first lesson in rulers. Making a border!:

1. To measure a border that is parallel to the top of the page, first, measure the distance you would like the line to be (ex. 1inch) from the top of the page. Mark this
measurement.
Next, slide the ruler over and measure and mark the same distance on the other side of the paper.

2. Connect the points with the ruler.
Do this to all sides of the paper.
